Subconscious or Conscious – Where Do You Live

Ah such wonderment exist within the conscious mind vs the subconscious mind.  Many different opinions on both.  I intend to give you my impression of the correlation between them.  Most of the impression or information will be coming from my interpretations and what I’ve read in a book called “the Seat of the Soul” by Gary Zukav.

The conscious mind is directly connected to our personality, while the subconscious mind is basically hidden beneath our normal conscious mind.  The subconscious mind is responsible for all our unconscious things to keep us alive.  For example, the beating of our hearts, breathing, blood circulation, visual recognition from the things we see and so many other mindless wonders.

The conscious mind is more responsible for things involving our brains and day to day activities.  Such is the case when we are learning how to do something, or when multiplying things like 10 X 10, or even more difficult ciphers.  It’s also responsible for conscious thoughts.  These thoughts create emotional responses such as fear, anger, jealously and many other negative emotions from our everyday lives.

For example, let’s say in your present job your offered or given the opportunity for a promotion.  Once the data is received into your data banks of your brain, the conscious mind takes over and begins to analyze the data it was just given.  Even though the data was not complete it doesn’t matter because the unique thing about our conscious mind is through a life of practice it assumes things, it creates things true or false doesn’t matter.  What does matter is the issues of how the conscious mind correlates the partial data it’s received.

We as human beings throughout the centuries tend to look more at the negative side of the decision process or most data we receive.  We begin the process with asking ourselves questions, which can be and is a good thing.  However, because we don’t necessarily like change and a promotion is definitely change thoughts of our abilities comes into question within our minds.

Questions like…

Can I really be able to do this, will I screw it up, am I good enough, why did they offer me this, are they trying to trick me, is this their way of getting me out of here, what will my office friends think of me, and so on and on and on these and so many more questions of doubt pop into our minds, or the minds of most.

Our conscious mind doubts you’re good enough to be successful in this new position, as you wonder what if I fail.  The other down side is the stress this places upon us.  Our blood pressure goes up, pulse rate increases and other emotions show up in our lives.

Anger, lack of self-confidence, and we walk around on pin and needles.  Many of our love ones who would naturally benefit from the promotion suffer similar negative emotions, and the truly sad part is they have no idea why, but they’ve picked up on your emotions and reflecting back to you what your reality is displaying.

We can always measure the things we will lose, but how ironic is it we never see or believe the good things we will gain.

So stay tuned as the next post will delve into the subconscious mind and how it can do so many good things for us.
